Meet our board
Pension Corporation is governed by a board of directors that oversees our work. The College, Municipal, Public Service and Teachers' pension plan boards each directly appoint two members to the board of directors – a plan member representative and a plan employer representative.
Geraldine was appointed to the board in 2018 by the College Pension Board of Trustees. She has practiced law since 1988 and is currently legal counsel for the Aboriginal Law and Litigation Group within the Ministry of the Attorney General. Before her appointment to the board, she was an executive of the Law Society of Yukon, and a member and chair of both the Yukon Human Rights Commission and the Yukon Mental Health Review Board. She also worked as an adjudicator under the Canada Labour Code. Geraldine has completed the Advanced Trust Management Standards program. She has been a member of the College Pension Board of Trustees since March 2012.
Elizabeth was appointment to the board in 2019 by the Teachers’ Pension Board of Trustees. Liz is president of the Richmond Teachers' Association (RTA). Prior to her work with the RTA, Liz was a chemistry and science teacher for 20 years in the Richmond School District. She was appointed to the Teachers’ Pension Board of Trustees in January 2018 by the British Columbia Teachers’ Federation.
Weldon was appointed to the board in 2011 by the College Pension Board of Trustees. He taught French immersion science at the secondary level for 17 years before accepting a staff position at the BC Teachers' Federation in 2000. In March 2005 he became a staff representative for the Federation of Post-Secondary Educators of BC, which appointed him to the College Pension Board of Trustees in September 2005.
Mary was appointed to the board in 2015 by the Municipal Pension Board of Trustees. She is chief financial officer and VP corporate services for First Nations Health Authority and has over 25 years of healthcare experience. Mary has a bachelor of commerce degree, a master’s degree in leadership and is a certified management accountant. She has been a member of the Municipal Pension Board of Trustees since October 2009.
Gary was appointed to the board in 2015 by the Municipal Pension Board of Trustees. He has been a national representative for the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) since 1997. Currently, Gary is the pension coordinator and airline coordinator in British Columbia. He is the staff advisor to the CUPE BC Pension Committee, a representative on the Municipal Employees Pension Committee (MEPC) and chair of the Municipal Employee's Pension Advisory Committee. Gary was appointed to the Municipal Pension Board of Trustees in January 2014 by MEPC.
Brad was appointed to the board in January 2018 by the Teachers’ Pension Board of Trustees. Over the last decade, Brad has worked in several areas of government, developing expertise in economic and fiscal policy, labour relations, income security and pensions. He currently works in the Public Sector Employers’ Council Secretariat as director of pensions supporting the minister of finance in the role of government pension partner.
David was appointed to the board of directors by the Public Service Pension Board of Trustees. He participated in the negotiations that led to joint trusteeship of the Public Service Pension Plan in 2001, becoming a trustee that same year. He has been the vice chair of the Public Service Pension Board of Trustees from 2007–2010 and since January 2011.
Chan-Seng was appointed to the board of directors by the Public Service Pension Board of Trustees. He is the Vice President, Finance and Administration with Partnerships British Columbia Inc., a corporation responsible for supporting the public sector in meeting its infrastructure needs by providing leadership, expertise and consistency in the procurement of complex capital projects by utilizing private sector innovation, services and capital to deliver measureable benefits for taxpayers. He has a bachelor of commerce degree in finance from the University of British Columbia and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) designation. Chan-Seng was appointed to the Public Service Pension Board of Trustees in December 2010.
